Some of my projects happen in just an afternoon, some take a couple of days and some a little longer.
I will try to document some of my works in progress as I go.

I have been working on some new tiles and boxes.  Here's a look.

August 3, 2008
As promised, here is a peak at the new stuff I have designed.  These all include knitted and felted
pieces as well as some buttons, beads and glass "buckles"

The gold in this piece above is actually gold dichroic glass

These are all pretty long - about 14" long from the top of the hanger, except the
red one with the leaf which is only 8" long.  These could be hung on a wall or in a window.
I really love working in the felting and all the other elements - wood, wire, buttons.
I hope you like them, too.
I do have these for sale in my store page and on etsy.com.

Next, I am planning to make up some quilted tops for more pieces like this!

Well, Well, it has been a long time.  I have been super busy!!  You can check out my gallery
page to see a lot of new tile and serving tray designs that I have made.  Most of them have
been sold, but I do have a few left in my stash.  Here are a few of my favorites

This picture sucks, but the tile is just beautiful in person!
I have also made a stained glass window for my laundry room door (picture not yet taken) and
a small arrowhead window for some friends living in Lake Arrowhead.  They are selling their house and
wanted to add a little drama to their front entrance to enhance sales interest.

I also spent almost a week on vacation at my parents' house in Bend, OR.  There I was able to spend
a lot of time with my sister and her family as well as my parents.

Aren't these just great inspiration for color, format, etc!!

The big Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show
was going on and my mom, sister and I are all quilters and had a variety of quilts hanging in the show.
check out my sister's quilting and knitting blog for the show pictures and more inspiration!
I also got a ton of inspiration and am looking forward to using that soon. I have some great ideas for ways
to incorporate my quilting and knitting with my glass work.  Today, on a long drive I took the
opportunity to do a little knitting (Mark was driving) for a few of my new ideas.  I will hopefully
have something to show you next weekend.

See you soon!

I finished up the scallop bowl designs that I had and started working on a new item.  I
have created and designed these new serving trays - for cheese or whatever.  The first one is about
9" x 12" overall and the second one is about 9" x 14" overall.  I am so happy with the way they
came out.  They are, of course, made using the frit and glassline technique that I have
been so enamored with lately.  I fused a whole through the top of the neck with fiber
paper and threaded a piece of leather cording so they can be hung on the wall for decoration.
They also have small rubber feet on the backs to protect the glass and the table or counter.

I finished the window from my last post and installed it last week.  All went well and she
seemed quite happy.  I, of course, forgot my camera on the install and so am waiting for her
to download the pictures she took to post here.

I have been working on the bowls that I had shown you earlier, as well.  I have about
10 or so designs and am out of my clear glass frit that I need to finish the ones I have
on the workshop table right now.  I really think you will like the bear and the owl - I know I do!

In the mean time, I used a different frit and glassline technique to make this bowl.

I found that I don't like the technique as much as I though I would.  I was trying
to find a way to make a bowl in just 2 firings, instead of 3.  But, I ended up with 3 here,
anyway.  Also, there are more bubbles with this than my regular method.
So - guess what - back to what works!

I am now working on this big door panel for an old customer of mine that I did
a similar panel for in their old house.  It is approximately 32 x 42" and is my original design.
I used Beveldine Bevels for the outside clusters and had the center bevel custom made.
I just finished soldering it in this picture and the center piece is covered to protect the glass
and the sandblasting (a letter 'P').

We have had tons of snow around here!  It was piled about 2 feet up in front of my
workshop door.  That's my workshop on the right.

No excuse, I know, but I am back in the shop and have been working
on these new bowl designs that I had sketched out a few weeks ago.  They are about
9" round and 2" deep.
