Long, Hot Summer
Tuesday, October 04, 2016
Hi Folks!
It has been such a long summer! I have been working so hard to make more and more pieces that it really seemed to fly by. Mostly unnoticed, unfortunately.
I still have three more shows I am doing this fall as well as keeping my store outlets stocked, so my head will still be down for a while, but at least the latest crunch is over.
Summer started with fulfilling a 50 piece order for Twigs in Sisters, OR, then making stock for two of the largest shows I have ever done that came nearly back to back in August -- the Sunriver Art Fair and Art in the High Desert. I met some fabulous people at both shows and feel that those relations and interactions have made a big impact on me personally and professionally.
Then there were the 36 hand painted custom awards I made for the Central Oregon Mustache and Beard Society's 1st Annual Competition. Those were fun to do and challenged my script writing abilities.
As soon as those were completed and the competition was successfully completed on September 17th, I immediately went back to making bowls and some magnets and ornaments for last weekend's Bend Fall Festival. That was a cold, but fun event and a good segue into fall.
With that short production time I was also able to make enough to refill stock at the High Desert Museum Gift Shop and keep them happy for a little while.
Next up -::- the Holiday Marketplace at the Sunriver Resort -::- the Christmas Goose a benefit for Wendy's Wish at St. Charles Medical Center in Bend, and finally, -::- Holiday Tails a benefit for the Central Oregon Humane Society in the Bend Factory Outlet Stores.
I look forward to seeing you all soon and hope to keep you better updated in the coming months. Please check my Art Show Schedule page for dates and locations for each of these events.
Here's to Autumn!
